More pictures of food preparation activity of MBAH 10B

Th almost all boys group had ceramic knife:  Dr. Sherwin,  <Roslyn>Ramir, Deo and Bong

Why is food preparation the topic for creativity?  Because the food industry is the biggest industry.  Everybody loves to eat.  Food is the easiest to manipulate in creativity:   garments, wood, metal, would be difficult to do.  AGSB does not have resources for this.  No such lab.  3D printing would not do;  there is none good in 3d or CAD.

Here are some of the frentic activities in food preparation by the class.   Some did this in as little as 30 minutes. (None tried to borrow an oven toaster from the canteen?)

Dra. Peachy remarked that this is her first time to cook.  She asked me where I go the bell pepper.  Maybe she will do this for her guests tomorrow.  She said too that this brought out creativity in the group working together.

Maybe this is relaxing;   away form medical work and books.  I have believed entrepreneurship is about learning to do.  What could be a better way of teaching product design and prototyping than by cooking.

MBAH 10 B creative activity - culinary arts

APS Rockwell. Rom 210.   January 19, 2013

The proof of the cooking is in the eating.  Need we say more on the food that was created by the class?

The 2nd and 3rd group creative activities for MBAH 10B entrep class involved:   product design and product protyping. The product design would be the menu and the name (to be submitted to Dra Gina) and the prototyping would be the food prepared... For this I bought bell pepper (the expensive ones) and strawberries (the large imported ones)   This cost me as it does for the Entrep students.

The students would prepare two dishes:   one sweet and one sour using these two major ingredients.
Dra Gina Nazareth was assigned as the judge.  She declared in her inspirational video that she is a certified chef.!!!  Her criteria included taste, appearance, food hygiene and handling, texture and audience impact.  At the end of the day, she said they were all good.  (Save for one of the brutal comment of a classmate to another group that their strawberry  with cream.... was....hahaha)

The class was ready after 45 minutes;  then they presented and made their pitch.  Dra Gina had taste test after.

The Pitch

The pitch is an important part of product launch.  You have to "alok"  You have to have a product name and you have to pound the benefits:   taste appearance, health, nutritional value of the product.  If your customer do not get the message or you make a lousy pitch, then you do not sell the product.

Dr Apple says that a product is nothing more than a mixture of ingredients....

Makati BFP conducts fire drill at APS in Rockwell

APS, Rockwell, Makati City.  January 19, 2013 9:00 am

                               Smoke filled fire drill

The Makati BFP today conducted a fire drill at Ateneo Professional School in Rockwell.  The fire drilll started right after the 9:00 bell;  I got the inkling of the drill when I saw some AGSB office staff wearing reflectorized vest.  Thus:   I got some instructions to the class:  who will lead, the evacuation team leader what to do.

We were the first group to get out of the building.  Dr. Abel and I volunteered for the fire extinguisher use on firefighting a gasoline fire.

The class was delayed for 30 minutes.  We were able to finish though what we planned to do for the day.
