Mandy Jeffrey and Iza - some of the attendees

Prof Jorge is conducting a 3 day seminar of insurance executives at Insurance Academy for Asia and Pacific at the said venue.  There are currently 8 participants who attended:

1.  Marika V. Chavez

2.  Izafinna S. Ching

3.  Michael Feliciano

4.  Michael L. Gatdula

5.  Maribeth Hermosa

6.  Jeffrey R. Lacson

7.  Grace Monica P. Lobrilla

8.  Mandy C. Velasquez

Two are Ateneo GSB MBA grads;   three are from Phil Charter Insurance (part of Metrobank group) and one worked with Malayan whose fmr President who happens  to be  a compadre is running for vice mayor of the writer's town

The director of the institute, Prof. Jene Aliwalas invited Prof Jorge to hold this course.  IIAP is holding an equivalent MBA degree program specializing in insurance.  The coordinator is Yna Empeno who has been very attentive to the needs of the facilitator and the participants.

What were taken up:   lectures on entrepreneurship, I am the best self affirmation, new ID - eas; how to conduct a crime, corporate entrepreneurship.

My conclusion was that all the guys were there because they are the best still wanting to be the best.  Some were blessed with academic honors;  the others are street smart and go getters

Prof Jene Aliwalas graduated Summa Cum Laude from UST

Marika Chavez, Assumptionista, AGSB MBA of IIAP explaining why she is the best -awesome!

Jeffrey Lacson submitted 776 suggestions;  only 70% were approved;  Mandy of Malayan listening

Michael G says he is the best because he keeps on improving

Mandy from Malayan and UP,  a math wizard and a go getter

Michael F sold stuff, studied in Cambridge Mass;  good at selling

Yna the seminar coordinator, and Prof Jene Aliwalas IIAP director

Faculty Meeting of Central Management and Economics Cluster

Rockwell Ctr, Makati City, PHL   |  May 6, 2013

Ms. Constantino making her presentation on the PAASCU thing

I attended the meeting of Central Management Cluster under Prof W. Constantino last May 2, 2013.   I consistently failed to attend the meetings she called for because of conflicts of schedule.  Her agenda was mainly about action plan on the PAASCU accreditation.

They are about:

l.  PhD scholarship

2.  Research:

        l.  Publication
        2.   Student work publication

However, this  raised question on the career path being envisioned for GSB professor, the academic orientation of  PAASCU accreditation vs the work based qualification of most of current
GSB professors, and lack of tenure of part time professors (contract is every semester only)  There is a disconnect.  Those who are over 60 (like me) and busy in their work could not care less regarding this development/question.

Those are  Prof Noemi Martin (fmr student) and Winne facing the camera

Dr. Tony the chair of MBE wearing white shirt;  Prof Marivic and Dr. Lydia King

                               Cluster Chair  Prof  Winnie Constatino

Profs. Sebastian, Drs Neo and Lydia King
