Business entrepreneurship success begins with Self Mastery

Ateneo Entrepreneurship

Business entrepreneurship success begins with self awareness and personal mastery.  It can not be achieved by attending a seminar or series of seminar, employing a consultant, or even attending a graduate school of business.

I have advised a number of individuals on their business difficulties and found out that their organizations are OK, and even the external environment has many opportunities, few threats that favor the success of the business.   But the business continue to flounder.  Why because of the owner.  They want to exercise full control that is why they can not tolerate delegation, strategy that are inconsistent with their world view, or merely become authentic.  They rant and curse and engage in gossip, run business in a very personal manner (they change procedure daily - no set manual)

Most difficult to deal with are doctors who are frivolous who will not value the time of people other than their patients.  They are impatient and think and behave above the rest.  They are also used to being center of attention of pharma reps.

The good starting point of becoming a good businessman/leader is to focus first on self awareness and self mastery

Re: Let us persist in the advocacy to have internet costs lowered and speed levelled up

Hi sir Jorge,
Good to hear from you...
There is an issue of revising our law for NTC to have a teeth in going after the telcos.... I also heard that Telstra with SMC will invest..  plus the plan of Zuckerberg in using a satellite for internet connection.. Hoping that all of these will push through to increase the competition.
Yes, we will continue campaigning until we realized our dream of a cheaper and faster internet.
Thanks,
Cezar

Thanks for getting in touch.  As we were saying in the Leadership class, as espoused by Leader Cezar, we would campaign for faster internet speed.

I have put up a site to focus on this.  It would  seem though that people do not mind.  When there was a campaign to support Sen Bam Aquinos inquiry, only 1,300 supported.  Not a soul attended his inquiry.

I have made 9 posts and very few are following or are reading this site.

There are several developments in this area.  One solution is to have peering deal between telcos in the PHL say between Globe and PLDT.  Under the peering arrangement, the local traffic can be directed between the local exchanges, without cost on either parties thus lessening costs, and faster access.  As of now, the traffic between two Telcos have to go through an international node at HK thus, increasing cost and increasing access time.

Globe and PLDT are now in serious talks on IPP (Internet Peering Protocols)  So far, PLDT gave in to peer with DOST so that many can gain easier access to govt.  sites.  I foresee tough nego between  PLDT and Globe, because this means loss of revenues for PLDT (this could be a major source of revenue for PLDT, since they control the backbone after Digitel purchase)
