Imposing GRB facade and building
As we toured the businesses of student, we requested our host/owners officers to share us the history/kuwento about their business. The first one to share was Ms Elizabeth Timbol, the current CEO of Guagua Rural Bank. We visited her at her office at Korean Town, at Fil Am Friendship Highway.
She said the bank was founded by her father some 60 years ago. They are related to the Nepomucenos who are famous politicians in Angeles and who are in power sector. Her father are based in Guagua where land is much cheaper compared to lands in Angeles City.
I inquired if their bank is engaged in Allied Undertaking as listed in PD 71 and 72. Only in financial undertaking like pawnshops. Her father wants to be very focused in banking. He wanted focus (although they have hotel and other businesses)
Their bank is in the billion sphere; thus she can afford to say she wants to be a billionaire
He also said banking is about integrity and honesty. People will bank with you if you have the two. The foreign banks withdrew from Angeles and were not successful because of the lack of the above.
That is why she laments why in her studies, she is dragged into stories that are untrue and which impugns on the above. She has not gotten over the false allegations; and the continuing social media attacks, and rumor mills. Which is unbecoming for professionals and in an academic environment
