Had a wonderful meeting yesterday with a business protege: both material and spiritual

Every generation needs a revolution - an entrepreneurial revolution

Had a wonderful, spiritually filled meeting with a business protege, car sales executive, yesterday, Pentecost, a Sunday.

Had a PM meeting with a sales executive of an EV car company now the biggest in a the world, to consult about the problem of anothe protege with regards to marketing and cash flow reqs.  The day  before he demo the performance of one of their best sellers.

I still can not fully digest our discussion yesterday but these were the things I remembered

1.  He came early to the meeting because he saw the relevance of the project to his calling  ie the messenger of the Lord;  he seemed to share our thoughts on:  tithing, business principles, and spirituality.  He saw I am open the other party was open

There seem to be total trust among us.   His sister works as secretary of barangay in Mahabang Parang  (the protege used to be a barangay head)

2.  We held hands and prayed and thanked the Lord for bringing us together.

3.  He sees that the whole thing has happened beofe and it shall be one (an affirmation)

4.  He has among his connection:  two investors in his hometown;   several investors in province where the project is located.   and marketers

He was unlike the other whom we met who seemed to be not so interested and has other priorities.   The guy  gave us his priority even though it was a Sunday and very productive for a sales executive.

Should Philippines follow Indonesia in exporting processed nickel instead of ores?

Every generation needs a revolution - an entrepreneurial revolution

Philippines is second of the top exporters of nickel ore  It has resulted in boom to Palawan and other sites of nickel mining.  Its main application is stainless steel and batteries.  EV has pushed up demand for nickel

PHL exports raw nickel (laterite - wet) and imports the processed ore to become stainless steel battery and the like.

Of late, Indonesia, one of the leading exporters of nickel, and which has banned export of raw nickel ore has been exporting processed nickel, resulting in more value added to Indonesia.  It has partnered with Chinese businessmen for this venture.

Of late though, PHL has seen surge of exports of nickel to Indonesia - up to 500,000 metric tons (thats a lot)

Should we not go by way of Indonesian route - export processed nickel and gain more value added?
President BBM has expressed his direction towards more exports of processed nickel

Questions:

1.  Isnt time for Philippines leave the extractive mineral stage of resource development?  Isnt it time to
level up economy for more processed value adding activities?

2. Isnt it more favorable for Philippine nickel industry to impose higher tariff or ban exports?   Is nickel      classified and strategic mineral?    In the face of EV alternative for greening program, it is.    Are we
content with our present stastus, or should we wisen up?

EV will kill the ICE automotive industry

Every generation needs a revolution - an entrepreneurial revolution

It has been noted that sales of Internal Combustion Engine vehicles is on the decline.  The finances of General Motor is on the decline.

It could be caused by entry of EV vehicles.   EV from China and Tesla (USA) are on price war making the EV more affordable.   BYD of China has EV of $10k making this more affordable.

The lack of moving parts sees no need for parts and maintenance business making a big dent on the profitable side of ICE manufacturers.  () maintenance)

What is going to the ICE EV industry.?   Are they going to disappear?
